CYNTHIA HILL OF MARKAY MEDIA WINS DAYTIME EMMY
Markay Media was amongst this year's Daytime Emmy nominees in the creative arts categories of Outstanding Directing in a Lifestyle/Culinary/Travel Program and Outstanding Single Camera Photography for A CHEF'S LIFE.
The awards ceremony was held at the 42nd annual Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Awards was held in Los Angeles on April 24th.
Cynthia walked away with the golden statue for Outstanding Directing in a Lifestyle/Culinary/Travel Program and was accompanied to the big dance by ACL camera wielders, Rex Miller and Blair Johnson.
Upon receiving the award from Jeopardy host Alex Trebek, Cynthia began her acceptance speech with an eloquent outburst of “Hot Damn!”
Markay Media’s feature length documentary PRIVATE VIOLENCE won its nomination for a 2015 Cinema Eye Award for Outstanding Achievement in Nonfiction Filmmaking for Television. The film, which provides an intimate, harrowing account of domestic violence through the eyes of two survivors, was also nominated for a Primetime News Emmy for Outstanding Documentary Longform in 2015.
The Cinema Eye award acclaims outstanding films that are “commissioned, sheparded, and completed with the support and partnership of filmmakers and television networks.” PRIVATE VIOLENCE was broadcast on HBO with the support of HBO Documentaries.
Director/Producer Cynthia Hill accepted the award at a ceremony in New York City.
